Let me tell you a little about myself. I have 20 years experience in portrait work using pastel, graphite, acrylic and oils. My artistic pursuits began at the age of eight with oil painting lessons. I graduated from Youngstown State University with a degree in Graphic Design. Horses, specifically the chestnut gelding pictured above, were the entire focus of my life in my teens and early twenties. While attending graduate school at the University of North Texas I began to doing Western theme paintings and commissioned portraits. I now live in Northern New Mexico with my husband and a very spoiled Staffordshire terrier, also pictured above.
I work from your photos. The more shots of your pet the better the finished product will be. If you would like I can send you tips on photographing your pet. Pastel and graphite portraits are done on acid free paper or gessoed illustration board. Acrylic and oil paintings are on stretched canvas. The composition of the portrait is up to you. Call or email me and I will help you to pick what medium and size portrait that best suits your needs. A 50% deposit is required to begin your portrait. I will be happy to email you images of the work during various stages. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
